Natasha

Natasha, born on 27 February 2010, came into the world in the slums of Ronda, Kenya. Born into extreme poverty, without any support from family members, she had to fend for herself from an early age. She searched desperately for shelter on the streets of Ronda, often finding it in abandoned buildings or under make-shift tents. Finding food was a daily struggle, and the situation worsened dramatically during the rainy season: everything got wet, the cold was piercing, and she rarely had enough to eat. The constant stress and malnutrition led to health problems, which eventually brought Natasha to the attention of the authorities.

Thanks to the attention of the authorities, Natasha was taken to a state orphanage, where she received protection and care. There, Santos, the founder of Nuru Slums Hope for Africa, discovered her potential and welcomed her into the Nuru Family. From that moment on, Natasha began a new life full of security, care and hope. For the first time, she was allowed to be a child, laugh, play and make friends with other siblings in the family. The support of Nuru Slums Hope for Africa not only gave her a roof over her head and daily meals, but also a sense of security and belonging that she had never known before.

Today, Natasha is grateful for the opportunities offered to her by the Nuru Family. She particularly appreciates the chance to receive a good education, which opens the door to a better future. Her big dream is to become a singer and pursue her passion for music. The support provided by Nuru Slums Hope for Africa gives her the tools to overcome obstacles and achieve her goals step by step. Natasha is a living example of how support, education and care can give hope and make dreams come true, even in the most difficult circumstances.
